i picked up a 89 dodge ram 50 for a project truck. im starting from the rear and working my way to the front. im kinda new to fabricating but am capable. the rear part of the frame had 2 sections which were rusted bad and had holes. so the bed is off im going to plate the frame... im cleaning the frame with a grinder and wire cup getting ready to paint with a rubberized`bed coating. new fuel tank, fuel lines, brake lines, spring bushings, exhaust, etc. everything is going to be new, so the rear crossmember was rusted and gone... can i buy an aftermarket one or do i have to fab. one up? i couldnt find any available.. also the shackle mounts are in bad shape so same thing? i gotta fab them to? and lastly the gas tank mount (round rear one) is gone... someone put a pipe through the frame so im going to use that but weld it since it is held on by exhaust clamps on the end of the pipe right now any info i can use would be appreciated.
