Water on driver side floor
I've had this problem for a while now and i finally decided i need a little help.
I recently noticed their is water under my floor mat (no carpet aftermarket plastic flooring) after I drive in wet conditions and I'm not positive where it is coming from but I believe it is the kick panel vent. Originally I believed it was coming from where the parking brake comes in but i sealed it shut with caulking and still have the problem. So if it is the kick panel vent could a person take the front fender off and rtv around the whole thing? Let me know if its happened to you and if so how you fixed it, thanks for looking!

I've read stuff about water getting in through the top of the fender and dripping down onto the floor board. And I also haven't found anything regarding fixing it besides completely deleting and covering the floor vent.
Same here. Ive searched for fixes to this aswell because mine also leaks but I dont want to block the vent and refuse to believe there isnt another way
When you say "wet conditions" do you mean rain, or fording rivers? I have no plug in my right kick panel, and have never experienced or seen water in it. I did experience water on the floor from bad window seals though.
In my experience, I've seen water accumulate under the mats from leaking window vents, rust holes around windshield and/or under windshield gasket, kick panel vents rusted out along floor, kick panel vents filled with leaves and water overflowing through vent, rusted out floor pans, bad door seals and heater leaking in the box. LOTS to check....
My winshield leaks sometimes vent windows some. My doors holds water and I open them to shake/drain the water out. My carpet was soaked on the pass side mostly at the trans hump. If it is a manual may have some water from that
Its pretty common to have cracks in your cowl... You can usually see them if you open your doors and look at it where it curves down under the fender. If you cant see it, you might be able to feel it by reaching in and dragging a bent coat hanger over it. It will fall in or "click" when going over the crack. Dodge used to make reinforcing patch panels for these because it was so common, but they have stopped making them. Ill bet thats where your water is coming from. Someday, Ill make a patch for mine, but until then, I just filled mine with black roof caulking.

i checked all the gaskets and seals and their all good so I am wondering if it would be the cowl I'll check once its stops raining out so probably sunday and I will let you know what i find
There is a piece of plastic behind the kick panel thats pressed between the panel and the body when you screw the panel on the body. The purpose of this piece of plastic, kinda like a collar, is to make sure that any water running down the vent cowl doesnt get in to the car. Its sealed with some kind of foam strip (mattress material) that over the years gets flat and hence doesnt seal very well. I glued mine to the body and I havent had a leak since.
Even if you block the vent in the kick panel waters still gonna get in as the problem lies deeper. The panel isnt hard to remove, only one screw is a pita but nothing major. Also, if/when you do this, take the opportunity to clean the inside of the cowl from crap - the water exit at the bottom of the fender is small and easily blocked from old leaves and such and the first hole that any rising water reaches is, you guessed it, the vent.
