1988 Dodge Ram D250 5.2L
Im with wolfie on the ASD relay. quadruple check all of your in's and out's on it. If it doesn't work, you will get no fire. Also, double check your grounding system. Dodges are very sensitive to proper grounding.
There is voltage going to the relay. You can hear the relay clicking when you turn the ignition on. Ive checked all the grounds and they seem fine. I could go through them all and clean em up, but i just find it hard to believe it could be a ground after it was running fine before the mishap. But ill do it anyway. Anyone have any other suggestions ?
Actually, based off the diagram and testing procedures, the wires for my relay arent in the right position. It says terminal 30 is suppose to be RED, mine is green and black.
Yes im sure. Based off the terminal designations on the relay, the green black wire goes to terminal 30. I have no idea why, but im assuming this could be a problem?
You say a wired shorted - which one? Was is shorted to the body or do you mean shorted as in fried? Since your troubles began at that point I'd start there.
Can't you bypass the ASD relay as a test of function?
Also, just because you have the voltage doesn't mean you get the current, especially under load as in when cranking. I've done the mistake of assuming that a couple of times, battery or corroded terminals/grounds are usually the culprit.
