Default hood help

I'm wanting to swap my 1993 hood to the bird bath hood from 1974-1980.
I searched for other threads, but the one I found had had the pictures removed. so, my question is; will it fit? do I really need the cowl? I know about the latch, and not concerned about it. so any help and or photos would be great.

Yes you need the cowl and the wiper pivots and the hinges from the bird bath hood since the hoods were actually a different length. The latch as you know isn't exactly a "bolt-in" it requires some fabrication.

Here is some info with a couple pictures of the hoods on the 91-93 style grills

if I also swapped the grille then there wouldn't be any problems?

you would also have to swap the radiator support in order to install the older style grill
