ok well I did that and it moved about 16 degrees .....so I crabbed some tools and tore into it, I can put all the slack on one side and move it about a inch or little more so its safe to say its seen better days, but I put it at tdc on compression stroke rotor points at #1 cylinder and my timing marks are not like ive seen in the Chilton book and at autozone ,my cam mark and crank mark are at the top of each gear instead cam at bottom crank at top ....any ideas

like this if they were my timing gears lol

You could have jumped time (some not 180°) but you may just have gotten it off some as well. Just carefully turn them to where they need to be
