Default Need a little help

I just purchased my '76 D100 - seen as my picture. It's a 318, 4 speed. Unfortunately, it does have a small oil leak coming from somewhere near the back of the block, between the engine and firewall. I haven't had a chance to get a good look at it yet. I'm no mechanic, but think I can fix this once I find it. I was trying to find a complete engine diagram, and have not been able to. Does anyone know where I can find this? Does anyone have any random suggestions on where I should look for the leak based on where I said it is? I will take any good input! Thank you!!

You will need to clean up the area and see exactly where it is coming from to start with...

Could be leaking down from the back of the valve covers or intake...it could be from the oil pan gasket or even the rear main seal. It could even be as simple as a leak from the oil pressure sending unit.

^I'm with sls on this one: valve covers, oil pan, rear main or oil pressure sending unit.

Default Thanks!

Thanks for the input. I know I need to clean it up and look around. That's what I haven't had a chance to do yet, but will definitely check the areas sls listed. And thanks jkeaton for moving this too. I had a heck of a time just figuring out how, much less where to post.

Good luck on the project. I have a 76 D200 with a 400.
