Default Homemade grille guard photos and specs?

I had the idea of fabricating my own grille guard for my '91 w-150.I have some ideas but would appreciate any photos and specs of some y'all made/bought.Also if you could post any website you found that sells them.

I found one website that sell one for 1st gen Rams but they are $1000.This is the site

I have been planning a front bumper build for my truck, hoping that I'll maybe get to it sometime next summer. I have only seen one place to sell 1st gen bumpers, which is the site you listed. There are plenty of places that will custom make you one, but that costs big $$$. I'm also interested in what others might have to say.

Thats a really nice bumper, has given me a few ideas on designing mine. If you don't mind me asking sls001, how far does the bumper stick out, and secondly where did you get the blacked out grill, or did you just paint it?

The grille shell was the paintable version not the chrome one. It came in primer gray.

Here is a side view of the bumper.

iv looked around a lot for bumpers and i couldnt find them anywhere. im just going to make a simple on out of 2 inch tubing. ill use that one for a while cuz it looks cooler than the chrome one and then im going to make one out of sheet metal and add a winch and all that. What gauge metal did you guys use on your bumpers?

The winch box on mine is made from 1/4" steel and the wings were 3/16". If you are going to install a winch (that you plan on using) you will want the winch box made from 1/4" to not only support the weight of the winch but the forces put on the winch box. Then make the rest out of a smaller size to limit the weight.
