if you buy a 4 inch lift it compensates for that block you can get ones from rough country that come with a new block or ones with new springs all the way around

I am under the impression that the 3 inch block was standard on all w-series 4x4 trucks, so that they could use the same springs on the w-series and the 2wd d-series.

only on the 1/2 tons and some light duty 3/4 tons. HD 3/4 tons and 1-tons had a 6" block.

I forgot about that little bit of strangeness. I recall seeing some discussion on a diesel forum about 6" block + double factory torque = wrappity wrappity wrap. Especially in reverse, I think.

6" block? Wow. When the sun comes up, Ill have to go look under my ton truck. For a 1 Ton, I feel like it sits kinda low. I have been thinking about a 2" lift or so, but if its already a six inch block, I don't want to block it any higher. I would have to spend the coin on new springs.

the 3in block is stock in the back, and the front springs are stock there there isnt a lift. A lift is always in addition to whatever was stock.

The truck I swapped axles from (a w250) had a 6in block. its now on my w150. I beleive my w250 has one aswell, currently double stacked...bad I know.
