Default Question about key blanks

My 85 D150 only came with 1 key for the ignition and no glove box key.
I noticed a set of original Chrysler blanks on ebay but also noticed some were stamped with an A and some with a B.
Is there a difference? I could not see any in the pictures and the Curtis website only listed one part number for Chrysler blanks of that type. Y-152 for ignition and Y-149 for the glove box.

Default key blanks

I did have a spare made and also had a locksmith make a glove box key, but I thought it would be nice to have some original chrysler keys.

I didn't even know the glove boxes had keys in the 80's glove boxes I thought it was just a latch... and my ignition key looks nothing like those tho mines real wide at the top....

Those are the old style Chryco key blanks, which they used up until the late 70s or early 80s, IIRC.

Look at your current truck key. Is it cut on one edge, or two? Does the one key that you have work both the door locks and ignition?

They changed to a double cut key for some models in 1987.
Before then the round key worked the trunk and glove box or console and the ignition key worked the door.
I talked to the locksmith that made the key for my glove box and he did not think there was any difference in the A or B blanks.
Not sure why those letters are stamped on them.

they probably just made them different like that just so you could tell the difference between them.

Default Double cut keys

Not sure when exactly, But my 87 Dakota had a double cut key. I also have a 1989 Dodge Dynasty but it has a single cut.
By the mid 90s I think every model had the new key.
