Default retro-fit newer rims on an older truck

I wonder if 17" rims from a 2010 Ram will fit on my old 86 D-150? I know the bolt pattern is the same but I wonder about the back-spacing? I think the newer rims have a lot more backspacing (negative offset) and may cause tires to hit suspension. Anyone tried this?

Default Wheels

I put 16" wheels off a 96 Dodge Ram. I had to use wheel spacers/adapters on mine. Although the bolt circle was the same the wheel center was smaller on the Ram wheels. I used 2" spacers on mine. I purchsed mine on ebay and contacted the seller/company and they were very helpful. newtjr
