Dang, I could probably have wired mine in.
I have the flat two wire style plug.

Which of the 3 factory connections do I use for the 2 wire distributor?

You need to state what you are trying to do and what you have as far as an ignition system. You said you weren't using the pcm. The three wire pick up in the dizzy is for that. It will not work with the two wire system.

All the write-ups I've found said to convert to the old (non PCM controlled) Chrysler electronic ignition.

Here's what I have:
3 wire female. Factory 1990 wiring harness.

3 wire male. 1990 small block distributor.

2 wire. Chrysler big block distributor.

Looking at the first picture. Using my multi-meter, the pin on the left shows ground, the center pin reads 9 volts and the pin on the right reads 5 volts (key in the ON position).

You can't use this with the two wire coil pick up! You are using the pcm for running the gauges only correct? I assume you could still use it for ignition even though everything else is disconnected(throttle body injectors,02's etc..). If that's your plan you will need to mod the distributor to except the 3 wire pick up.

"All you need is the pick up coil in the distributor(two wires). You can hook up a MSD box or the mopar electronic ignition to it. The MSD is the easiest to do."

Looks like I need an MSD box.

Thanks for the help!

Post a video of the motor running when you get it sorted out. The msd6a is awesome! You won't be disappointed.

I went with the MSD Streetfire box. About $100 cheaper.
Good to 400hp.

Well, another waste of money. Doesn't work.
Any other suggestions?

I put all the Chrysler electronic ignition back on it. After some fiddling around,
I got it to fire. Runs like it's on 4 cylinders, maybe a bad pickup or incorrect air gap setting? I'll play with it more in the morning.
