Default 1990 250 - lots of smoke

Seeking advice. I have a 1990 Dodge W250 with the gas 360 and throttle body. Upon starting, it spits a lot of carbon from the exhaust, and billows black smoke when you give it some gas when you're going down the road.

I noticed that one injector was spitting fuel into the throttle body sporadically, so I replaced both injectors.

I also reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for a while. It still billows a ton of smoke when driving. It looks like one (if not both) fuel injectors are spitting wayyyy too much fuel into the throttle body.

I'm thinking the computer is telling the injectors to do it. Or perhaps it is a fuel pressure issue. But the vacuum pressure unit on the back of the throttle body seems to be functioning. Or a sensor?

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue, or if anyone has any bright ideas. Thanks for reading!

Dose it also do it after it's up to operating temp or just when starting out? Possible temp sensor/tps. Any codes?

It does still smoke, at all temps. As for codes, I don't even know where to plug a code reader into the thing... (sorry, it is new to me) Any advice?

I've read your link, and that helps. When I get home, I will try it out

It threw a 37 code. Partially stuck throttle solenoid. Any helpful thoughts?

Does your truck have overdrive A500? According to my book code 37 is for an issue with the part throttle unlock circuit. I think they are referring to the lock up solenoid. ???

Yes it does. But the OD works great. The 37 code doesn't explain my smoke. I'm going to replace the vacuum deal for the fuel pressure on the throttle body. I think it's just getting too much pressure. Thanks for the help!

Still having related issues. Code 27 now (injector circuit not switching when told to). Any advice? Do I need to bite the bullet and replace the ECM, or is there a better way?

After you replaced the injectors did it make any difference with it spitting?

Seems to be more consistent inside the TBI. The fuel is being injected in a more even pattern, but it still seems like too much fuel is being injected, even with the new injectors. Still a ton of black smoke and unburned fuel
