are both battery cables in good shape? that click you hear is the starter solenoid engaging but for some reason the starter motor is not getting power. if the issue is not the positive battery wire then you might possibly have to pull apart the solenoid on the starter to check it and make sure there is nothing messed up inside it since the starter is likely rebuilt.
