Default father daughter 88 w150 build

hi there my daughter and I are starting to rebuild /modify my old dodge 88 w150 4x4 short box with an older 360 and 727 out of a 1979 dodge d300. question 1 what if any would we have to do to the transmission to get it to bolt in to the place of the 88 transmission .2nd question what if any modifacations would we have to do to get the electrical to hook up to the older carb set up and do away with the tbi because it will not be used she wants to go old school!!! any help greatly app.

Best to use '88 transmission if its good . pain to swap 2wd trans to 4wd . To get rid of TBI you will need to wire in a distributor . I recommend a chrysler one like is probably in '79 motor . Also computer regulates charging to will have to get a voltage regulator and wire it also . get kick down stuff from '79 donor as it is different as well . Done a few of these conversions but it's been a while .

thanks pentastar666 for input on my daughter and my project got a new hei distributor for the 79 motor . question which voltage regulator should I use.got most of kickdown linkage from 79 donar going to get the 88 tranny freshened up before we go back in .how would u recommend wiring in new distributor and voltage regulator . we would like a clean look under the hood .any suggestions are greatly app.thanks again.

Distributer just needs source that is hot during start and run . I prefer to stay all chrysler on regulator . Found a diagram for that .
