Default Sanding question

What would be better, easier, faster, and safer for the truck to use to sand large areas of an 83 d150?
Soda blasting or electric orbital sander?
I bought a bag of regular "maintenence" soda and a bag of "maintenance xl" soda to play with, but I'd like to use the sander with about 150 grit or something for the big flat areas.

Pneumatic orbital sander, Easier would be blasting it but you have to watch not to heat up the metal to much or it will warp. Plus you need a lot of air to keep up with it.
