Default front axle shaft

bought an 87 w150 and keep having driver side axle shaft issues. it keeps wrecking u-joints and shafts. upon further inspection it looks like the outer and intermediate shaft have no end play therefore the shaft has pressure on it. also the hub is hard to install with out a little tap. any help would be appreciated on how to fix
thanks
mike

How are the ball joints? What u-joints are you installing?

napa u-joints, ball joints new. found that if I leave out the spindle bearing I have end play and some movement in the outer shaft so the warn hub goes on easy. soon as I put a spindle on with the spindle brg in it moves the outer shaft at an angle so it binds into the spindle and there is no end play

sorry for late response I was working on the truck. I thought that there might be something bent as well. we have a parts truck so I checked it and all seemed to be good(end shaft play and the outer shaft moved a little in the spindle) so I changed out the seals, put new diff fluid in and took off the rotors and spindle to repack the brgs. that is when I seen the spindle brg was wrecked. I replaced it and now I have the same problem as the first diff with the axle shaft having no end play and the outer shaft hitting the top of the spindle. so I left out the spindle brg and everything is ok. why on 2 different trucks is there an issue with the the spindle brg. is this a factory flaw and is not noticed with the full time hubs in but when you put manuals in it is a problem. have owned older dodges with out this vacuum 4x4 and have had no problesm. is it because they have that outer brg on the drivers side housing. very confused

I would love to see a parts diagram for how exactly that goes together........ or, at least, how it is SUPPOSED to go together......

And which bearing seems to be causing the trouble? (Thanks for the pic, that helps a lot.)
