Wiring Harness
Hey everybody,
I recently bought a '90 W250 4x4 5.9L and the wiring under the hood looks like a blind person tried to "fix" it (which probably wasn't broken to begin with). I wanna replace the whole wiring harness but not sure whats the best option. Any ideas would be much appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

Don't think you can find new ones any more..... best bet is likely finding one in a wrecking yard...... and even that is going to be a crap shoot. Might be able to have one custom made, but, that will be big bucks. (probably more than you paid for the truck.....) You may end up just having to repair the one you have.... unless you get real lucky.......
That's that I thought but I've heard some good stuff about Painless wiring harness but they don't make my trucks. I did see a universal one and was wondering it would work?

I doubt it. That's more for a retrofit for a carbed motor than anything else. You have fuel injection, and you would likely spend more time modifying that to work, then you would spend repairing what's currently in the truck.
you can try posting on ramcharger central or in one of the 1st gen groups on facebook. someone might have a harness that hasn't been hacked up but even then the wiring is 25+ years old. finding good harnesses is getting harder all the time. no aftermarket wiring kit will ever work with the 88 and newer truck since they are fuel injected. the TBI needs the computer and all the wiring in between to run. i would personally just get a good wiring diagram and fix any issues that there might be with the harness..
