Runs good at idle and at cold start, drive for awhile and starts to starve for fuel and then tries to stall at stop signs. Evens out in neutral. Park it, turn it off, and come back ten minutes later start it up and it runs fine again for a bit then does the same thing.

Thinking tps, o2, or pump but want some input. Don't have the money to play the guessing game.

i doubt it is a tps or o2 sensor. it might be fuel pump. you can get a fuel pressure gauge and tie it into the fuel line to see what it says.

 

Disconnect the front O2 sensor, and see if its any better.

 

Sounds to me like a possible O2....... but, fuel pressure is the second thing I would check.

 

on a truck this old if the fuel pump hasn't been replaced it is bound to fail soon. my 93 is on pump number 3 and i know my 89 is at least on its 2nd pump which was 1 of the old pumps off my 93. it didn't put out enough pressure to run my 93 but the TBI only requires 14psi to run instead of the 40+psi needed to run MPFI

 

i did replace fuel pump couple years ago and o2 as well. Have not replaced tps. (Seems like the colder the weather the better it runs)

 

what brand o2 sensor did you use? there is a couple brands dodge trucks absolutely hate. NTK is the brand of choice for them. you could still try installing a fuel pressure gauge in line to see what it is doing. have you tried checking to see if there is any codes stored in the computer?

 

I'll run the codes, see if anything pops up. do not remember the brand of o2 sensor, but thats good to know that theres some the dodges hate. fuel pressure test is also a good idea to start ruling things out. it should be the same in park and under load, correct?
