Default 1990 dodge w250 318

I have a 90 w250 with a 318 that has a Holley throttle body on it and it’s automatic. I bought it and the owner said it ran up until one day it just died on him. HE says it has a new ecm but It doesn’t have spark and the fuel pump doesn’t come on but it will crank and crank all day. All the relays check out good and I’ve scanned some of the wiring I’m stumped on this truck.

Sounds like the crank position sensor. The computer won't provide fuel or spark if it doesn't see the engine spinning. It's best to spend the money and get a Mopar sensor.

I'm not sure. It looks the same as a 2nd gen sensor and those are in the block behind the intake.

no crank position sensor. the hall effect sensor in the distributor does that job i believe.

They sell a crank position sensor for it on Rock Auto. That doesn't always mean it's right though.

i don't know why they are listed for a 90 but the TBI did not used them. i know i didn't see one on the 91 i ripped the engine out of. they didn't start using the crank position sensor till 92 with the magnum engines.

That's good to know. My father in law had an 86 (carburetor yet) that I worked on quite a bit and I own his old 95. It sounded like a crank sensor, so I took a peek at Rock Auto and it listed one for it, so I assumed they used them. I hate misleading someone, sorry.

would this Hall effect sensor cause it to not get fuel and spark? And what is the Hall effect sensor?

All the relays check out good
Did you check the ASD relay? Even if it's good it needs to turn on or you will not get fuel or spark. If it's not turning on then the ECU may be bad. Are you getting any codes?
