I just ordered a hooker header set to clear my hi torque starter, and want to run 2.5in. Pipes and turbo mufflers. I'm thinking offset inlet/outlets to give me flexibility for routing, but have the gas tank crowding the driver side. Is there a good way to route these exhaust tubes?
When we did duals on these trucks, we ran them both down the passenger side. If you want them to exit out under the rear bumper, makes dealing with the spare tire interesting though.
x2 on what Hey You said. there is really no option but to run them down the passenger side. i would maybe consider center in/out or offset in/out on the same side and running the mufflers sideways side by side so that you can tuck them up under the bed out of site. i think i seen someone do that on a truck and thought it looked real good. could also go with a dual in/out muffler. that would save on some money and pretty much do the same thing anyways.
this pic is of a 4x4 but if your truck is 2wd i would try getting it tucked up a bit higher.
Are you referring to both pipes entering the same muffler? Any downside to that approach? I'm also considering exiting at the bumper together on the driver side.
ya a dual in/out muffler. i don't know if there is any downside. i jut figure it would keep things clean and simple underneath. i don't know if i would run both all the way to the bumper on drivers side. maybe 1 but not both. if you are going to dump both at the same spot i would consider dumping them in front of the rear axle on the passenger side. then it would be cheaper and you would most likely get more sound. the longer the exhaust the less sound you seem to get from it. plus if it is all the way back you can't really hear it.
