Default Voltage regulator keeps popping

I have an electrical problem with my 84 W150, My voltage regulator keeps popping, and I think OReilly is getting upset at replacing them (got tot love lifetime warranty) I have checked all the grounds I can find and all connections I can find for tightness.I am really frustrated by this and am almost ready to let a pro take a look at it. Thank you all for any help or ideas on this

Run a ground from the case of the regulator, to a good ground as well.

really not surprising. the aftermarket regulators got a pretty bad rep for failing. definitely make sure the VR case is grounded good which you can verify with a multimeter. may also be a good idea to check resistance of the 2 wires from the alternator to voltage regulator to make sure there is no issue with them. which alt do you have and have you had it checked? also do you have same voltage at alternator output as you do at the battery?

It seems to be working with a wire from the VR case to the battery negative post. I feel stupid, took 5 months to fix it. now it is running cooler and oil pressure is lower, and The mileage i better (on one tank of gas) oh well AVI!!!!

Give it some time, make sure it is fixed.
