360 crankshaft
Might as well have, I don't think so. I think it was the lint that gets stuck on the edges of machined parts. I used those cheap red shop towels you can get 10 for $3. I'll be using Terry towels next time, something lint free next time. Thought I blew all that out with compressed air.
Where does the front main get it's oil from?? Does it come from the cam?? All the main bearings, and rod bearings look like new, besides the etching from the crank. I'm thinking it spun a cam bearing and blocking the oil galley to the front main. It had oil but not as much as the other 4 when I pulled them off. Or I got a really weak oil pump, but it pumps up the lifters.
Edit: new bearings and new pump noise is gone. I think I could have gotten away with a new pump, the bearings looked like new yet, no hot spots, or discoloration. Crank looked like it did after the machine shop polished it. All good!!!
Side note: anybody ever torque the mains to 80ft.lbs. instead of 85ft.lbs.??
