Default Oil on front driveshaft

See below pic, any idea where this oil is coming from? Is there some kind of lube under that rubber boot?

After a long weekend of off roading I found this front driveshaft covered in I believe oil (doesn't smell like diesel nor gear oil, doesn't really have a smell, I believe it is oil}. I can see a little oil on the rear of the oil pan but the oil only really seems to be on this shaft. Is there some kind of lube in that rubber boot on the drive shaft, maybe a cut in the boot leaking?? There is no oil from the transfer case and none on the pinyon.

There is a slip joint in there, that should have a grease zerk on it. But, I don't really think that would account for it...... Clean it off, see what happens.
