Default Engine mods?

Hey all, I’m looking at maybe adding a little power to my ‘92 but I don’t really know where to start, I don’t really know anything about dodge or their motors. It’s got the 5.2/318 in it. I’ve heard the 5.9/360’s are more popular, is that worth swapping in or should I just build the stock block? Are the 5.2’s good motors? What parts should I look for and where at? I’ve had trouble finding aftermarket support for these trucks.

5.2 and 5.9 are essentially the same motor. Just different bore/stroke. Anything that bolts to the 5.2 will also bolt to the 5.9. (though I suspect you have the 5.2 magnum engine, and the 5.9 didn't go to that till 93.) Is yours port injected with the kegger manifold?

Honestly I don’t even know how to know if it has a kegger manifold, like I said I’m very unfamiliar with the motor. Although I thought the 5.2’s didn’t become “magnums” until like 94 or 95? That’s part of the problem with finding support for the motor is I don’t even know what I’ve got lol. I can send pics if that would help?

Yeah, a pic of the engine would do nicely. I would almost bet its a magnum though.
