Spoke to the parts counter and we were equally stumped as to the poor figment but he kindly ordered a New one instead of a remanufactured one at no additional cost for the trouble, and it will be here tomorrow morning. Will update further once test fitted.

After getting the new alternator installed, the problem is resolved. I think it had to do with poor remanufacturing. Someone forgot to change the sleeves in the lower mount points. They were worn oblong, which resulted in the twist I was getting once tightened down.

Thanks everyone for the help. And if anyone needs anything from the 86 FSM let me know since I’ve noticed some things are hard to find.
