Default Will a NV4500 bolt up to a 2wd 318?

I have a 1989 ram d100 with a 318. I want to eventually take it across country next year so I wanna get rid of the automatic 3 speed (I have no clue what the name of the trans is, tried looking but got nothin) that’s already in there, and put in the manual NV4500.
I wanna know what I need to do to my 318 for the NV4500 to work properly and if I need to do any cutting for it to fit or if there’s any other components besides the 318 that I need to keep in mind. This will be my first time so any minor or small detail you can throw at me helps a lot.
Or is there a better option besides the NV4500? I’m all ears.

Manual trans trucks have a tall transmission tunnel. Flywheel has to match the engine (balance), and the clutch has to match the trans (spline). NV3500 is another option (94+ ram 1500). 1st gear is more streetable.
