Default Complete rebuild
I have a 1990 D150, and I’m considering putting a 6BT with an Allison transmission. But I also am gonna convert it to 4wd. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on either of these?

That is a MAJOR undertaking.... How are your fab skills? Welding? Auto or manual trans?

IMHO, start with a truck with a stronger frame. Maybe one thats 4wd already.

91.5-93 diesels have the best frame of the bunch.
