Default 1990 Dodge 3/4 T manual transmission swap

Hi would a 1993 Dodge Dodge Dakota club cab, 5 speed transmission work to exchange in my 1990 Dodge W250 3/4 Ton Truck? I have a 4 speed manual in my Dodge 3/4 T truck now. Trying to upgrade. Anyone Let me know please. Thanks, Tony

The 5 speed is going to be a lot weaker than your current trans. In a 3/4 ton truck, I wouldn't expect it to last long...... You want an NV4500.....

Depends how you use the truck. That 5speed is what you'd find on a half-ton. Both transmissions should be 23-spline so the tcase should swap.

Default transmission swap

My plan was also to have a 318 that I was going to pull out of a 1985 Ram charger that I bought for parts. So I was hoping the 318 and a 5-speed manual transmission would merry up nicely. I use my truck to pull a camper and occasional dump refuse runs. Tring to make things more fuel efficient for me right now.

A 318 is the better choice for the trans. Stock pairing in my 96 1500 I once had.
