Default Axle Help

Hello all! Very new to Dodge world. Recently acquired an 87 Dodge 250 (3/4 ton?) 4x4. Front axle (Dana 44) is toast, meaning housing destroyed by someone who didn't know what they were doing when installing gears. I have a buddy about 3 hours away that has a 44 out of a 1978 3/4 ton 4x4 that he's willing to give me. It has like new Warn hubs on it, and if it will bolt in I really like the idea of getting away from the vacuum actuated axle anyway. Gear change is not a problem, just wondering if WMS and spring perch spacing is the same. Also, if there are any other issues on swapping that axle please let me know. Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Same perch spacing. Wms should be similar.

Locking hubs on a 78 dodge d44 isn't stock... these were full-time axles. Maybe double-check that's it's a proper upgrade/swap and not something hastily cobbled in there.

WMS = wheel mounting surface.

Used to describe overall width of an axle assembly.
