Default New truck won't start

Hello there, I am hoping to get some help on a couple issues I have with a new truck I bought (89 dodge w150)
Major issue at the moment is that it won't start. It just clicks. Looking under the hood I've noticed some unplugged connectors. So it seems to be missing something but I'm not sure what. Could anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks.

Given how dirty those connectors are, I suspect they weren't plugged into anything.

How is the battery? Where do you hear the click from? Relay? Or solenoid down on the starter?

Battery is good. I'm able to jump the starter solenoid and crank it. Click comes from the ignition so it might not be anything actually. Everything has power but turning the key doesn't seem to do anything.

Possible neutral safety switch. If it's an auto, try starting in neutral.

Tried that, no luck. It does dim some lights when I turn the key. Wonder if the battery cable is no good.

Does the starter do anything at all? Does the solenoid at least click?

No, the starter doesn't do anything or make any sounds.

Are you getting power on the wire to the solenoid from the ignition switch?

If you turn the key and the starter clicks but doesn't crank the engine, you either have a weak connection or the solenoid is bad. Try whacking (<---fancy technical term) the starter with a length of wood and pop the end of the wood with a DBH. (Darn Big Hammer) It may work then. It it does, you need a new starter. Make sure the wire is good. It's cheaper than a starter.

Long story short, an ohm meter sent me chasing ghosts. Turns out it was super simple. I believe it's the neutral safety switch, the connector wasnt plugged in. Thanks for the replys tho!
