I have a 85 D100/150 [At least that's what it says on the title]. I am having a very difficult and frustrating experience trying to find the correct axle shaft. I work at an auto parts store so I have experience finding the right parts for my customer's. This is what I do know... it has 27 splines and is 31.75" long. EVERY shaft I can find is either the wrong spline count or the wrong length. I have looked up every model of 85 Dodge pickup and NONE of them are correct. I'm finding mostly 31 spline or 27 that are the wrong length. I bought a 27 spline for a B van but it was too long. I even called Motive Gear and the can't find anything with these specs under application or by searching axles and looking at the specs.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

 

What axle do you have under there?

 

Pretty sure it's a 8.25 Chrysler. The tag is long gone. Is there another way to find the axle ID without the tag?

 

27 spline and c-clip says 8.25" to me.

Rockauto lists them, with a length provided. There should only be one shaft length for that diff for 85-93 in a ram pickup.

Is it a case where people are measuring the shafts slightly differently? In my autowrecking days, the c-clip 'button' was never included in the OAL.
