Default 1989 Ram W250 headlight issue

My radio suddenly quit working a few weeks ago and I had extra time to fool with it today, I replaced the wires that had come apart, and taped off a few that were just bare. The radio still didn’t work so I put everything back together to fool with it tomorrow. Few hours later I went to run into town and when I went to turn my headlights on I had no power what’s so ever to any lights (head, tail, dash, etc) it blew the fuse so I replaced it and it immediately blew again. Checked the wires again and nothing was out of the ordinary, out of curiosity I put a 25amp fuse in and it hasn’t blown but I still have no lights. Any help is greatly appreciated, I guess I’m mostly confused on why messing with the radio caused the headlight issue.

Think I would re-visit the radio wiring... see if something isn't shorting out there.

the headlights have their own circuit breaker built into the switch. there is a dash light wire at the stereo to dim the stereo at night. there is also a possibility that you may have popped a fusible link under the hook. i forget what one the lights may be on.
