Default 1992 Dodge Ram 4x4 Speedo Issues

Hello All I'm looking for info on how the Speedometer works in these trucks being they arent Cable driven....I recently swapped the Fuel Injected 318 out for a carbed 340 therefore I did away with the computer controls...Is there a way to have the speedometer working without the Computer any info would be greatly appreciated.

Speedo is probably electronic, on my dak, the speedo sensor is in the back of the tranny on the drivers side, I believe it's similar on these trucks as well

I *believe* someone told me once you can grab the speedo from an older truck and hook it up with a speedo cable. I havn't done it so I am not 100% sure.

there may also be a way to hook up the electronic one. there may be aftermarket controls for a dedicated speedo so you won't have to rig up a mechanical one. you could try jc whitney or maybe jegs.
