Is the sending unit electrical or mechanical. The one on my 1984 D150 is mechanical; there is a cable running from the speedometer to the rear of the transmission. I'm not sure the setup for an electrical sending unit.
Post pics of your Ram, I've never seen one from our friends across the pond!

Check for any shorts in the system and, if needed, rewire the speedometer wires from the sending unit to the speedometer. Also check the sending unit in the transmission and make sure that there are no blown fuses.

Hello every body
got the speedo working took the speed sensor off and rigged it in my battery drill gave it a spin and sweet jesus it works again
i think the truck had sat for a while

on another note when i got the truck the steering was 45' out
when i looked behind the seat i found the short rod that goes from the steering box to the rubber ring under the steering column
this had been changed for a later one
luckily the old one had a rebush kit with it
so i have put the original back on
all is back to normal
regards
bobcat
