Default Emergency brake question

My Ram is a 1984 Short Bed with manual trans. and my emergency brake cables are broken.
I was having a shop put new brakes on back drums and get the parking brake (cable broke-missing) so it works.
The shop for the last 2 weeks + have said they are waiting for parts. '
Is the emergency brake cables that rare?
Or are they just blowing me off and should I try another shop?

Thanks

Roger

Took me less than a week to get parts shipped cross country from Detroit when I replaced my ebrake cables. I ordered mine through the dealer parts department. Pretty reasonable prices too.

I took mine in for a safety, and both back brake cables need replaced, and it took them a day to get the parts in. I cant see them being that rare, as its a pretty common truck.
