all right, I'm pretty devistated right now. I'ts like seeing your best friend in a hospital bed. So here's the story. I was driving up a hill and it wouldn't switch into the next gear so i gassed it a bit more and the engine bogged and died. I had to tow it home. The engine runs beutifly as it always does but it just doesn't engage any gears except park. All help would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

 

If I am to assume it is an auto trans. Dodge is noted for poor transmissions...it will cost you but it needs replaced or rebuilt. IMHO

 

crap.... It is an auto and I was hoping it wouldn't come to that but the more the day goes on the the i finally realize it. i don't think i'll ever buy a d150 again. only a cummins 250 or 350.

 

The a727 is a rock solid tranny, not known for going out without a lot of abuse. It's the newer 46RE that's known for failing. Not sure what you've got in yours. My a727 went out, after 250k miles of abuse.
