Default Mods For Laoded 89 Sno Commander

Guys
what can I do to improve the performance of my sno commander. It needs new heads and pistons(it burns some oil). And so I wish to mod or change them. I dont want to change the EFI setup or the Intake If i dont have too.
thanks in advance

Modding your heads isn't that tough. If you have to replace the heads you might as well clean up the ports and combustion chambers. You should have them rebuilt with a 3 angle valve job. If you plan on putting new pistons in you can get higher compression pistons. You can add a mild cam. Headers and a good exhaust set-up will help. The possibilities are endless really. How much power do you want and how much do you want to spend?

Really I just want to replace the heads, not the intake, cam or anything like that unless I have too. Somewhere in the back of my mind there was a stock head from that period that tended to be the best, I think they were "302's" or something like that. thats sort of the path Id like to take, what is the most efficient stock /mildly modded head I can use??

Magnum Heavy Duty heads are the best bang for the buck. Downside is that you'd have to drill your intake manifold for the different angle bolts, but it can be done.

how much power should I expect, given a stock EFI and cam setup and are there special pistons required?
