Default Soot??

Ok i have a 1990 Dodge Ram LE I had recieved from my grandfather for free.It was sitting out in a lot for 3 years with being driven maybe 2-3 times in the 3 year period.Anyway I have had it about 6 months now and have had black build up in my exhaust. I figured in the 6 months it might go away with a little driving but has not. I have replaced plugs wires air filter and battery. I have been asking people and they say it is running way to rich( in the mourning a big glop of black liquid will come out of the exhaust when started). I was wondering some possible ways to fix this problem, possible carb overhaul, adjusting carb( dont know if i can or not). Please help me out with some answers to my problem.

You have TBI fuel injection. Go down to one of the auto parts stores that carries SeaFoam...NAPA will have it for about $6. Run this thru your gas tank and see what happens.
