Default 89 Ram-50

i have an 89 Ram-50 with the 2.0 and i think the motor code is 4G6X Sirius or 4g52 my searches bring up both codes.... well to the point i dont really wanna replace the motor i would rather rebuild it and get about 150-200 HP outta it. If someone could point me to a company or website that can help me or tell me which engine code is right i would really appreciate it. If and has any wallet friendly swaps that they would suggest as well to increase hp i would like that as well. I figure an extra 30 hp shouldnt be hard to gain. thanks

Swap a 360 into it. It's apparently not that difficult.

The 2.0 in 1989 was rated for 90hp and 109lb-ft. You're talking about doubling the power.

when i looked it up the info i found said it was rated for like 98hp so i figured that maybe 130-200 was reachable. do you know which engine it actually is since my searches came up with 2 different engine numbers 4G6X Sirius or 4g52. this is a truck i am working on for a friend so i wanna do what is best. if you need to know he plans on driving the truck everyday and it needs to get decent milage and able to tow some loads at times.

Well if that's the case, perhaps looking at one of the newer 2.4 or even a 3.0 v6 would get the best of both worlds. I haven't a clue about them really, you might try locating a Mitusbishi website as I believe they're mechanically identical to the mighty max. You might also look into a diesel swap.

4GXX is a mitsu motor code, so they'd be more help. I really don't know why the Ram50 is lumped in with the full size rams, since they share nothing but the name.
