I have an 89 d100 v6 with 42rh, i was wondering if the 42re would swap in or if it has different mounting points or bell housing

a 42rh is hydrolic controled the re is electronically controlled..won't work...could make it work possible..but not worth it. should be the same...as far as bolting up as far as i know

if i were to swap in a late model v6 with 42re attached do you think that would be very cost effective

then you would be left with finding a wireing harness for it too. I would just find the same tranny you have and put it in. or get yours rebuilt.
