Default No Brakes - after sitting.

Started up the old truck that has sat since last winter (6 months or so)and after getting it running I pressed on the brake pedal to shift it into gear and the pedal lost all pressure and went straight to the floor.

With the truck running and someone else sitting in the seat pressing the brake pedal I can hear something under the hood and hissing and something steaming/smoking - must be spraying onto the engine- not sure...

Any ideas.. have had great luck with this forum so far figured I would toss that out..

Thanks again..

Can you see it squirting anywhere? I'd guess perhaps failed seal on the master cyl or maybe the booster gone bad. Did you check the fluid level?

It was definately close to the MC and booster but I thought it was down lower but it was dark.. Fluid is gone now and tow truck is coming Monday... I had enough frustration with the steering column the last couple of weeks so I am going to let someone who has a clue do their thing... I am hoping its just a line though...

Thanks for the reply.

All Fixed.. it was the line up front that runs near the manifold so that explains the steam/smoke I saw, the mechanic fixed a couple other spots while he was under there also. That truck has one rusty underside I tell you.. Next project is replacing that rusted truck bed.
