ive got a 85 ram w/360. when i crank the engine it will start but when i let go of the key it dies. the only way to keep it running is to hold the key on start. ive tried searching the forum but couldnt find anything that would help.
i tried changing the coil resistor but that didnt work. i took the igniton switch apart and it doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it.

any ideas.

 

sounds like there might be a brocken conection when the key is in the on position making it loose spark, either get out the wiring diagram and spend hours on opening up the wiring harness, OR get a msd ready to run distributor that only requires a ground, power and coil wire to run, they may cost about $350, check with jegs, but you get more powerful and accurate spark, thats what i did withmy 440
