Default what is this part ? and 1 other problem

ok so ive been looking for this noise in my engine it make a ticking/clicking and it only happens when in gear gets louder and goes with the engine when i accelerate. well we looked around and found something making the noise and you could feel it when it clicked but this also shocked the sh*! outta a friend of mine so this is the pic of that. and my other problem was last night i got off work and decided to give betsy a bath there with the hotsy pressure washer, and this is where i may have screwed up but i kinda misted the engine off a bit i didn't hit the engine directly with the washer but just misted over it to get some of the dust off, anyway went back in the shop had a few beers and talked with the boss, went to leave and betsy fired right up drove out to the road, forgot my jacket turned around and went back to get it, came back out to the main road, started making the turn and betsy dies mid road, get off as far as i can and try to start her... nothing, power in the cab not to the starter, pop the hood figit with the battery wires a bit and get her to start, throw her in drive and hit the gas ... dies again try this a few more times until i finally get her to go after reving in neutral and dropping it into drive, i know not good but when your stuck on the roadside with a few beers in ya i wanted to get the hell outta that spot, so any way after this she drove home the 30 mile just fine no more problems last night but haven't tried today, so whats this sound like ? im hoping a bit of water in the wrong place that hopefully evaporated by now. thanks all sorry for the long story but details count lol

I haven't seen anything like that before. My vent manifold is in that location. Do those cables go up to the distributor perchance? Do you have a standard coil on the fire wall behind the air cleaner?

I think you are right about getting water where it didn't belong. Did you spray the engine compartment above the drivers side front tire?

ok best i can tell is it might be a solenoid, egr something like that it has 4 air lines that go off to various places on the engine .

i have heard of people having loose tilt steering. i forget what they had to replace to fix the problem but i think you would have to take the steering wheel off to fix it.
