The 2.4 in the Avenger same motor in the neon, minus the turbo? If it is can you put a turbo without voiding the warranty.

 

It is the same engine that is in the Caliber R/T. It is their new World Engine.

 

So the Neon, Avenger, and Caliber all have the same 2.4 motor in them? Plus can you put a turbo on the 2.4 without voiding the warranty?

 

The Neon's 2.4L liter turbo was not the World Engine.

The Avenger and Caliber do share the same one. Not sure if it will void the warrenty.

There will be (hopefully) and 300 hp turbo charged version of the new 2.4L coming soon to the Caliber and Avenger, but no word yet. They will be SRT versions.

 

I would think if you put a turbo charger on a stock engine you would void the engine's warranty. You're compressing the air which is forcing more fuel into the engine to a certain point, which puts more strain on the engine.

Obviously if you by pass the engine fuel management system, which you'll need to do with a turbo, then you're probably going to void the warranty on the engine's stock PCM/TIPM since you'd be messing with the wiring under the hood.

 

Thanks for the info, I just didnt know since some cars come with turbo stock.
