Ya, there wasen't much expected of the whole thing by me - but for 20 i just had to see for myself...I took it off my car the next day after i put it on...Just curiousity - how does lets say a jet chip connect to the car? Does it just get plugged in somewhere?

 

The JET unit wires into your Throttle Position sensor and MAP sensor. It does essentially what adding a resistor does but it mostly likely can perform variable resistance changes based on throttle position. This is still not a true engine remap but it's one step better than a cheap resistor box on eBay.
This is not a real chip and since the gains are only 10HP max at the crank, it's not really worth it to me. The usefullness of this unit is that you could adjust it to maximize the benefits of adding on an intake and/or exhaust. They want $275 for this which is another negative. A real chip that was turned on a real car with a dyno will only run typically $300, so for this it's too much. If they sold it for under $100 I think it would be worth buying and playing around with.

Does anyone know if the Jet plug in chips get rid of the top speed limiter? Jet hasn't answered my email.

No they do not, but see my other thread about the predator tuner...This great tooldoes way more than just removing the limiter.

 

does anyone know if Jet still makes the performance chip for the 2.4l? i looked on the Jet website but couldn't find anything. thanks

 

for 300 bucks id say look around for a used nitrous kit....
