Afrter market u-connect
seperate remote speaker??? never seen that in any of the newer stuff ( i could be wrong). I installed an IPOD kit on a durango and it was just a plug and play. Not sure about the avenger.
I have also seen a uconnect installed in an avenger and the sound came through all of the factory speakers. the only difference you will have is instead of the microphone being in the rearview it will be installed up on the left front A-pillar. The onyl catch is that you can install it because it should come with some type of directions to do. BUT it will need to be added as an installed accessory by the dealer for it to work. they will have to update the build configuration.

Ya, I wasn't familiar with the latest Mopar U-connect system but the ones for pre-2008 MY cars have a remote speaker. Seems silly I know. But since you've seen the mopar one installed in an Avenger it sounds like they figured out how to integrate it with the car's sound system.
I've installed two of the previous generation Mopar U-connect systems in two other cars, a 2007 Dodge Charger and a 2007 Jeep Compass. They both required the remote control pad and remote speaker.
