Yes I was his first one, I gave him measurements to get it to fit. You can get a heat shield but its pointless unless you have as you stated, a K&N made out of the high heat plastic. Anything is better than the stock box, and from the last conversation I had with K&N, it's going to be a while before an intake is produced.

 

I saw one from Dodge while surfing the other day? Don't know any thing about it yet. I was on the authenticdodge site. Hope this helps
