New 08 owner with some questions
Just got my new 08 Avenger AWD R/T on Saturday and I've been loving every minute of driving it, but I do have some questions.
First of all, I've noticed that there is a bit of a lag when I put my foot down when the car is going between 35-45 KPH. It takes about 3 seconds before it shifts down and starts going. Is this normal for the car? If not I'd like to bring it up when I take it to the dealer on Thursday. (There's a scratch on the bumper from when they had it delivered, they're fixing it for nothing)
Second, is the exhaust true dual exhaust, or is it split? True dual exhaust would be one pipe for each set of three cylinders while split exhaust just uses one pipe for all six and splits it in half on the way to the back of the car.
Let me know if there's anything else I may need or want to know about the car. Y'know, the usual stuff...neat things that are included with it, things to look out for, etc.

Strongit... I had that issue when my car was spanking new with 16 miles on it. Sometimes there was a pretty bad lag.
Now it has 6200 miles and there are two possible things that may have fixed it. Either it was the recall that flashed the pcm (I think).. or the transmission somehow broke in.
Either way, make sure your recalls are all up to date and see how it plays out.
BTW: I have the SXT with sport upgrades, 2.7L

Actually, now that you mention it, it does seem to be getting better. I was on the road today and tried it again and it's taking about half the time it used to. I think it may either be learning my driving habits or, like you said dgpilot, it's starting to break in. It does only have about 450 KM on it so far, so hopefully by the time the first oil change rolls around the problem will be gone. As for recalls, I only picked it up from the dealership Saturday so they've probably taken care of all them by now.
