Default daytime running lights

I have just bought a new 2008 Avenger and need to have the DRL turned on or activated. Is there anything or anyway to do this.

Mine were on by default in drive...

If yours are not on - you may just have to get the dealer to do a lil check and see its all wired properly...

A quick phone call can probably tell you what you need to know.

You do have the lights turned to "A" right?

I believe he is refering to Daytime running lights not auto headlamps, but as far as I know (i may be wrong) it is only turned on initailly for cars in Canada as I think its required, but I believe your dealer can enable this for you.

But you say you need them turned on. Since you are in Las Vegas may I ask why? Or is it just because you would like them?

I wish I had that problem.. I hate my daytime running lights... I especially hate when people constantly tell me I have a headlight out when I make a turn (The system turns the headlight off on the side that the blinker is active) and when the lights turn off when I use my emergency brake (the system turns off the DRLs when you use your emergency brake)because I use the emergency brake frequently to slide the rear end into turns at speeds that I couldn't normally take the turn with.. So aside of the squealing tires andpeople thinking I am going to slam into them.. they think I'm flashing my lights at them to be a wise *** as well

Speaking of which I scared the crap out of a guy in a white van the other day doing that.. I was in control of the car but he didn't know that.. He was daydreaming at a light and I slid the rear end around the corner with a really loud squeal.. He grabbedhis steering wheel really hard and **** himself.. I watched him through the turn.. was too funny even though I really wasn't planning on messing with him.. it was a 90 degree turn at76 MPH.. And yes I know everyone is going to call me an immature retard but it was fun and is how I have driven most of my lifeso I plus I have driven this road for over 15 years and know how far I can push my car around turns.. Im just waiting for the day theres an oil spill there

YesI need the DRL for operation in Canada.
I haven't found anyone that actually knows anything about the DRL's and how to have them turned on.

oops.. Forgot to actually answer your question.. Sorry about that..

The dealer needs to activate it using a starscan tool.. Its just a simple setting shouldnt take more than 5 minutes to actually do it.. but3 hours waiting for them to get around to doing your car.

Sometimes the dealer forgets to set certain features. I am sure it was just an oversight.. but they should do it for you for free as it was their mistake in the first place.. Unfortunately you can't make the change yourself without a StarScan.

UM if you read the manual, you know RTFM. : ) you put your lights to on, A or what ever and you pull out mean to the side and vola' the daytime running lights come on. you'll know there on because a green light on the display shows they are on. if you have a feature and you dont know how to use it please crack open the book.

actually brainiak your refering to theFOG LAMPSthe green light u see is indicating that your FOG LAMPS are on the DRl come on in canada wen the car is in drive that is of course if you do not turn the lights on. if you turn the lights on then the DRL will turn of and your low beams will be on instead. also if you have your lights on auto the DRL will remain on if there is sufficiant sunlight or the low beams will turn on if its dark this feature is only required in canada i covered the sensor up with tape and leave my lights on auto due to the fact i have HID's but i remember how they operate and just to clarify again CFRANZ the pull out switch turns on your FOG LIGHTS not DRL .at least thats wat there called up here in my iglooo mayeb callled daytime runners in the states due to the fact u guys dont have DRL which operate the high beams at low wattage in case you were wondering 35w rather then 55w
