I just purchased a Dodge Avenger 2012. My main feature for buying a new car was i wanted the integrated bluetooth to have hands free and bluetooth music streaming. Well I wanted a white car and possibly wanted the V6. The dealer goes the only white one we have on the lot is a four cylinder but it has the cold weather group, and it has the rally package if you want we can put bluetooth in it and it will be exactly like the black V6 we have on the lot (which had the buttons on the deck, controls on the steering wheel, and auto dimming mirror. it will be just like it was factory installed from Dodge) This sealed the deal in my mind. I would sacrifice the engine size for more options and get the integrated bluetooth.
Well a week later when I hadn't head from the dealer about the status of the parts to get them installed I called up and found out that oh by the way you aren't getting all that stuff you thought you were. They offered to put the thing in for free and give me the $400 back for it. The parts guy called me last week and left me a voicemail that the part was in and to call him. Before I started dialing I got thinking about it and wondered if this $400 button they were installing was still going to do all of the things that I wanted it to do. I asked the parts guy if it would allow me stream my music from my phone through the bluetooth after this is installed and her told me no. Is this correct that it only does the phone calls through blue tooth and will not allow me to play music wirelessly, and change songs with the steering wheel controls?

I'd have to say that the parts person (you said "her" but by the sentence structure I'm not sure if you meant "he") know for sure.
1) The vehicle that you have bought, what radio does it have? On the lower right corner of the radio faceplate will be a 3 digit coode.
2) Can you ask the parts person what the PN of the kit is?
3) If this is a Mopar kit, then you will also want to maake sure that they are installing the iPod / USB cable PN 82212160 also, even if you don't plan on using an iPod, USB media player, or docking your iPhone. The reason is because any future Uconnect updates are done thru the USB connector of this cable.

However, yes you should be able to stream audio thru BT and your stereo and use the steering wheel buttons (if it is a Mopar kit).

Sorry I didn't get an email notification that you replied to me. It is the 130/RES the Uconnect Kit that they are installing is Mopar part number 82213219 and I found the manual for the thing and realized that you could have the usb port installed with that kit as well and that is part number 82212160. I convinced them to throw that part in for free since they hosed me on what I thought I was getting.
